Abbotsford House Guest House is located in the heart of the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. Abbotsford is a little four street suburb which few people have heard of and many GPS’s struggle to find.
We are located at:

If your GPS is having trouble locating us, then set it to find 49 Park Street Oaklands 2192. This used to be our next door neighbour but is now the site of the Park Street development of apartments.
We are located on the corner of First and Park street. The nearest corners with main routes are cnr Park and Pretoria Streets in Oaklands
cnr Athol Oaklands Road and First Street Abbotsford.
We also have a Gautrain Bus Stop located about 200m from our gate. This will save you some time if you are arriving from the airport.

Johannesburg has so much to offer to holiday makers. There are wonderful shops and restaurants and there is lots of theatre, movie houses and places to visit.
In December and January the weather is at its best and the traffic on the roads is far lighter than at other times of the year.
Abbotsford House is located within walking distance of Melrose Arch and the Norwood Mall. If you are coming to watch sport at the Wanderers Club, this is also extremely close by.
If you enjoy nature, we have the nearby James and Ethel Grey Park where you can go for a walk. It also has a branch of the Acrobranch Tree Adventure Experience.
The easy access to the M1 means that if you want to go touring then the first stop for many visitors is either the Apartheid Museum or next door to it, Gold Reef City. It can take you about 20 minutes to get there when the traffic is calm.
If you want to sight see, the easiest way to do this is to go to Rosebank Mall and catch the Hop On – Hop Off bus. Rosebank mall is about 10 minutes drive from the guest house. This red open top bus visits the Carlton Centre, Apartheid Museum, SAB World of Beer, Braamfontein, Constitution Hill and Soweto. You can choose where you want to get off and there’s a bus departing from the various sights every half an hour.
If you want to go a bit further, you can always take the Gautrain to Midrand or Pretoria.
You will find that Johannesburg is a great city in which to have a holiday. There is so much to do, see and experience, you’ll soon want to come back.
We look forward to welcoming you!!
