Abbotsford House your lodge of choice in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg close to Melrose Arch, the Wanderers Club, Waverley, Houghton and Norwood. The Nelson Mandela Foundation and Centre of Blessed Memory is within walking distance and if you would like to visit Madiba’s last office while you are in Johannesburg please let us know in advance as you have to apply ahead of time and get a security clearance.
We have 4 comfortable ensuite rooms fully equipped with wifi, a safe, a mini bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.
Our garden is leafy and tranquil. We have a pool and trampoline as well as a climbing wall and abseil rig. The climbing wall and abseil rig can only be used by special arrangement. We are also very close to Acrobranch in the James and Ethel Grey Park. Guests enjoy relaxing on our patio.
You can get to Abbotsford House using the Gautrain to the rosebank station and then the Gautrain bus which goes from the Rosebank station to Melrose Arch. The first stop of this bus is at SASCOC which is 200m down the road from our gate.
Lodge in Johannesburg
Abbotsford House is a great base for exploring Johannesburg. When you take the Gautrain bus to the Rosebank Station and then take the train to Park you can then take the hop on hop off Red Bus to the main tourist destinations around Johannesburg including the Apartheid Museum, Ghandi Square. the Carlton Centre, Sci Bono in Newtown.
